The men's blog as been silent at best for the last couple weeks, Sorry about that. Mid-March racing is absolutely crazy to say the least.
Anyway, a number of guys are out west, in fact coming home tomorrow and the next day, but while ripping around the west there were many successful achievements.
James and Wyatt are racing at JII Nationals, at our home away from home Mammoth, CA. Some snow fall during the speed training but it wasn't enough to stop the events. They moved to slalom where James laid down a top 11 first run but had some trouble nearing the finish on run 2.
As they got back to speed, Wyatt and his fast boards, pulled a top ten in the downhill. Nice job, boys!
looks like some more snow fell during the GS that led to some tough conditions. Travel safe back home and slay the parallel!!!
Another group, took to the road out to Idaho, Schweitzer Mountain. Speed started things off there as well and Ben took 2 more top 15's to add to his resume. Two seconds out in a tight field led to two more nice scores for Ben.
Mike was 28th on the second day and Cam, Kyle and Jeffry were 23, 39, 99th respectively.
Moving on to GS the boys all stepped up; Cam and Kyle went 11th and 12th on day 2, Mike 32 and Jefro scored a nice 128 for himself in 83rd.
The slaloms were a bit rough. As conditions didn't freeze overnight and the boys balance was a touch off in a established low rut that gave everyone trouble.
Good Job Guys, you got some things done out there.
For the end of this week, we're all over the map, Sunday River for Devo Finals, EC GS and SL @ Stowe and Waterville and 2 slaloms at Shawnee Peak Maine.
hope the weather holds, 60 degrees is for biking!!

As the "winter that wasn't" continues, the men's alpine takes a short break from thinking about skiing to doing some other activities. We are refreshing our minds and our bodies for our upcoming March race block.
Our last NJR series at Stratton just completed with some good results. On Wednesday, in the makeup Devo GS, the guys took 3 of the top 20 spots with Kyle leading the way in 9th, Dan 13, and Cam 17th. Mike, rounded out the top 30 in 26th. Wyatt, also made another strong move in GS from 105 to 44. And Marshall and Jeffry, in their first FIS GS, went from 111-76 and 114-82, respectively.
On Thursday a tough first run set made the first NJR slalom a good challenge. Kyle and James fought hard and were rewarded for their efforts by both landing on the podium in 2nd and 3rd. Wyatt also made another nice move from 80 start position to 25.
Overnight brought a wet 2 inches of snow that added some more challenge to Friday's event. Dan hung on for 16th with 2 solid runs and Ben just missed the top 30 in 33rd. Wyatt, picked up 40 spot again to 40th overall and Andrew was in 49th.
Nice job Guys! and Congratulations to the JII Nationals crew of Kyle, James and Wyatt. A great achievement but just one in the many more to come in your careers. Don't settle!
Let's pray for snow and winter to stay around for another seven weeks or so of racing.

Wow, haven't been posting in some time. Busy last 3 weeks to say the least. The boys have been at SG's in NH in mid-January, to Mt. Ste. Anne in Quebec, to Sugarloaf for speed week, locally at some slaloms at Suicide 6, to Whiteface for NJR GS's, to States at Okemo and finally to Stratton for NJR SL's at the end of this week. Then we will have a much needed 4 days break to refuel and renergize for the remainder of the season.
Recently, Dan Martin, followed his 10th place finish in the GS at Whiteface, to both tech victories in Vermont State Champs. Good Job! DMN and way to bring your Dodgeball game! In the slalom, Dylan was 3rd, Ben - 5th, Mike -6th and Julian 9th.
In the GS; Andrew moved to 9th and Julian took 12th.
Nice work Guys!
Short week this week as the State SG is today and then a day off followed by a short week of training. We also have the NJR Slaloms going on at Stratton. Check live-timing and Good Luck!

Mt. Sainte Anne, QC in Pictures

Monday will be two SGs. It has been an eventful trip. unfortunately not much racing and a couple canceled days. If we can get the races off tomorrow, it will have been well worth the trip, it's a great opportunity to race some speed which is tough to come by at the FIS level.
Meanwhile, we have gotten in some great powder skiing and a trip to the go-kart track. Here are some of Josh's shots of the week.

Busy racing lately. We are trying to get it all in before it all goes to &^%$. Recently we had a crew in NH for a SG on Wednesday. Kenny and Peter both had good days with a 4th and 9th in the first race respectively and Marshall, throwing down a 18th on the second day.
Up north of the border, the Ste. Anne GS and SG series. Dan made a nice move to score today and end up 28th overall, followed by Cam in 30, Dylan -33, Andrew- 37, and Ben 41. Good moves guys but let's give it some more gas on Monday!
Tomorrow, Killington and Needles hosts a VC GS, stop by and check out some action.

Another day of racing in the winter that Wasn't Vermont. After the rain and ice that came down yesterday you can imagine what kind of surface we had at Suicide 6 today for the VC slalom. Conditions were far from optimal but at least everyone knew it.
The boys stayed focused and fought hard but the first run did take it's toll. But in the end KMS had the first 2 J2's and 1 and 5 overall. Congratulations to Kyle and James. Spencer also had a good first run and skied out on the second.
a look at some action and some podium.

The boys crammed the front page at Proctor on Saturday, taking 8 of the top front page spots. Cam and Kyle went 2 and 4, James and Mike- 5th & 6th, Dan in 9th, AK in 11th, and Wyatt and Peter, scoring races and skied to 12th and 14th respectively.
Julian and Spencer were back to back in 17th and 18th with Kenny and Ben not far behind in 22nd and 23rd. Marshall moved up from the 40's to 33rd and Jeffry and Jack were 46 and 49. Tommy, catching some air over the roll, slowed himself down a bit on slide into 66 while Luke made a good move from 96 to 78.
Happy Martin Luther King day tomorrow. Some guys will head up to Sugarbush while the rest make the trek to the "Loaf"
