We couldn't ask for anything more on June 30th! A tiny covering of new snow and temps dropping into the low 30's last night meant winter snow this morning. The boys got 6 runs from Hare jump down into Gremlins and really dialed it up. The video was already packed on its way back east so it was the coaches eye and the athletes feeling today and they both had a good feeling. Their skiing has changed a lot, back to a little conditioning and we'll see how we fair down in Chile.
Great camp! thanks Guys.

Not quite a full freeze last night but with a little salt and help from my friends it was another great day of gs training. The boys are really starting to show some dynamic skiing movements that they are dialing in.
We are expecting possible snow showers tonight. Tomorrow might be the first non sunny day.
So we took advantage of the 9 runs today and some more climbing at the warming wall in town.

Back to GS today for the last day of the block and the boys were hungry for it. Some young bucks swapped the fast splits of the day with Kyle taking them and James sticking his nose in there on the top. Overall, Kyle took most of the runs on this 40 second course with the old veteran of the group Dylan, taking the last run of the day.
Michael was all of a sudden right in the thick of it once he gave a little love to his boards.
The first to runs of the day there was quite a hard surface so sharp skis were a good thing.
Cam and Peter are getting their gs mojo back and working to find more speed by rolling that ski cleanly. While Jeffry and Tommy are trying to keep those fundamentals solid in the course.
A great time was had by all. The training, the weather, b-ball games, SG couldn't have been more what the doctor ordered for these guys. This was just the first step in skiing fast this year.

I feel like I'm repeating myself daily. Again, much of the same in Mammoth. The boys started their second block with another great SG day today. They got 6 sg runs, lunch, a quick tune and a nice entry into some rock climbing for sport today.
The boys figured out that climbing is not as easy as it looks. All had fun and we lost none!
Looking forward to another fine day of sg tomorrow.
Some pics today, more later.

More of the same here at the mountain. Sorry it's so rainy back there. Most of the crew had off today, cruised around town, lunch at Pita Pit, yah, they paid for it later.
Late afternoon, threshold workout through speed ball. Team Jeffry took it with a 8-2 trouncing.
Peter and Tommy skied this morning and revisited some good fundamental movements and hope to bring it into their first day of sg tomorrow.
I got some down time with a cup of coffee and some good Mammoth scenery. Check out the pic.

SG was all we expected and more today. Great training, 6 runs by 10 am, the snow and the weather was much of the same; salted firm and bright sun. We are definitely getting spoiled out here.
The boys did a great job again, staying focused and working on the turn linkage and flow we are looking for in their skiing.

The boys had a really productive second day here at Mammoth. Temps were a bit warmer but we we still able to have quality runs until about 11 am. We are pushing these guys this camp for fundamental perfection and the second day showed good improvements from all.
We are expected a freeze tonight and planning on getting into some gs apex work through some terrain tomorrow.
As you can see from some of the pics we also had some fun today on some steeper terrain off the top of the mountain.
Happy Father's Day!
